Natalie Finnemore is a contemporary artist based in Sheffield, UK and we’ve been lucky enough to work with her on our first Labrador Edition. Well-known for her large-scale sculptural works, Natalie’s practice explores how our bodies engage with objects around them.
Her limited edition quilt is made from 100% cotton fabric, soft to the touch and quilted to make a warm and comforting extra layer on your bed or to simply wrap up in on cold winter nights. It’s so beautiful, you can even display it as a wall-hanging!
The surface of the quilt is taken from a watercolour painting printed directly onto the fabric, it is then cut up and re-stitched in large trapezoid panels. The soft blue-grey hues reveal the dimples of the original watercolour paper that Natalie used and are overlaid with brush strokes.
Working directly with artists is top of our list and our background in sculpture and curating informs everything we do at Labrador. We want to support artists in making new work so Labrador Editions commissions contemporary fine artists to design for the home; opening up new ways of working whilst producing beautiful objects for you to cherish and enjoy.
